By wide margins, Americans want Congress to institute long-term strategic policies that will end the United States’ dependence on China and Russia for energy and other critical resources such as prescription drugs, according to new research from The Congressional Institute. Fully 59 percent of people want to see an “all of the above” energy policy that incorporates a wide range of technologies from fossil fuels to green energy that will increase energy production in U.S. to help lower gas prices and make us less reliant on adversaries like Russia and China.
At the same timed, 57 percent want to see supply chains moved away from China and toward the U.S. and our allies as steps that will help reduce inflation. People who identify politically as Independents, particularly, want to see the U.S. end our dependence on China for critical supplies, minerals, medicines, and technologies.
